Decluttering the Laundry Area

My 11 year old son and I began cleaning, decluttering, and organizing the laundry area and the garage. This was a good, productive weekend. These areas of our home are a big source of anxiety and borderline insanity. Although still incomplete; the progress was such a relief.

For the laundry area; we simply removed everything from inside the cabinets, swept the concrete floor, cleaned off the washer and dryer. Then we wiped everything down. I noticed the cabinets could use some refinishing; but that project will have to wait until another time.

Deciding what to put back in the cabinets took some thought. I decided to put my Avon inventory in the right cabinet. I didn’t have as much as I thought; so there is room to spare. To the left I decided to keep the laundry supplies, and some of my supplies for future “re” projects.

One of the sources to motivate me to get organized is Renee’s blog at Lattenene’s Cup of Chat.

Check back tomorrow for before and after pictures of the laundry area.
